Reviews

4 stars I recommend this book for anyone who wants a light, easy read. A up to date take on the world of vampires and what they could achieve. Short and sweet it’s perfect for the beach and to dip and out of. I also appreciate the slightly larger than usual size of text. Suitable for teenagers upwards.

5 stars A gothic tale with a queer heart, TG Trouper’s Abbey rewrites vampire myth for a modern audience. Raised in secrecy after being found in the ruins of Whitby Abbey, Abbey develops both lethal powers and a complex sense of identity—one that draws her into a fierce bond with Madeline while leaving a trail of brutal justice in her wake. As Detective Mark Saunders pieces together a web of murders spanning West Sallbridge, Inglewood, and Whitby, he confronts clues that defy rational explanation. With minimal yet evocative prose, vivid characterisation, and themes of power, vengeance, and queer love, this is a standout gothic novel that feels both timeless and urgently modern.
