Reviews

5 stars Wow, this book connects books 1 and 2 perfectly. We discover how Astrid and Brigit are sculpted into their strong positions within their opposing armies. They are intent on getting revenge on each other. Another incredibly powerful read from TG Trouper.

Astrid Book 3 is a fast-paced action story that takes the reader on an exciting rollercoaster ride. The eponymous hero of the book, Astrid, is a skilled fighter with the regular forces who gets taken on by Captain DeSalva to become an assassin. To do this she needs to prove herself as a young woman in a man's world and is determined that nothing will hold her back when on a mission. She and her team are pitted against Correlan soldiers, who use them and set them up as bait. However, Astrid's instinct for survival has been sharpened in the months that she has been fighting with the frontline troops and she has learned how to conserve ammunition - a valuable skill as the reader finds out. It's impossible to discuss every aspect of this thought-provoking read, but it truly is a fascinating story that asks questions about a woman's place in the world and examines misogynistic behaviours.
