Reviews
This starts immediately where the previous book finished so we're thrown into the thick of things right from the start. A secret phone in the hospital and an overheard conversation bring Regan straight into her quest to bring Kingston down. Events concerning her mother complicate things and as we know from the prior books, nothing is ever simple for Regan. This was simply a breathtaking read. Now that it's over, I find myself taking a deep breath to think back over what I have just read. It's relentless, it's complex with lots of nasty characters and you are never quite sure who is trustworthy. Thankfully there is plenty of humour throughout to balance things out. The title really made full sense at the end in a very vivid climax and as for the ending....bring on the next one as soon as possible!
Regan Carter is on a mission to bring down an OCG. They are more than determined to stop her. Ever determined to do things her way, Regan isn't prepared to play nicely with anyone, but she is beginning to wonder just who she can trust. Andrew Barrett has definitely saved the best for last, neatly tying up the threads from the three previous Regan books. This is a great finale; At times emotional, other times action packed, there are plenty of surprises and some quite funny moments too, often involving the legendary CSI Eddie Collins. At times it becomes very personal. This has been a great journey. I am sorry this is the last book.
Wow! Regan Carter, book 3, was amazing. I didn't see how book 4 could be better, but it absolutely is. I couldn't wait to find out what happened to Regan's mother. Is she alive or not? Regan still has very few allies and has no idea who she can trust. Poor Regan is put through the mill once more, and we are cheering her on to survive everything life throws at her. I do hope there is another series of Regan Carter books.
