Welcome to the best-selling CSI Eddie Collins series. This is the second boxed set of three crime thrillers in this celebrated series featuring a man hellbent on doing the right thing – his own way. Over 1000 pages of non-stop action and emotion will leave you exhausted and hungry for more.
Ledston Luck. This is why Eddie wept.
CSI Eddie Collins attends an abandoned chapel with his young colleague, James, where they begin examining a body that has been there a very long time. The body is booby-trapped, and James is killed. This is the story of how Eddie fights twisted demons of the past and wicked people of the present as more murders are discovered. Can Eddie find the killer before they, and the past, wins.
The Death of Jessica Ripley. This is how it all went wrong.
After years of being wrongfully imprisoned for killing her ex-husband, Jessica Ripley is out for revenge. She’s determined to find the people responsible for her time in prison, and it’s up to CSI Eddie Collins to stop her. With each passing day, the pursuit of justice is becoming more personal and dangerous. As the investigation intensifies, the tragic outcome of this story looms ever closer. Who will survive and who will be next? Sometimes, even Eddie gets it wrong.
This Side of Death. This is how scary the job can be.
Alex is a woman with issues. She almost killed CSI Eddie Collins four years ago, but was locked away in a secure mental facility. Turns out it wasn’t secure enough because now she’s back, and she’ll kill whoever gets in her way as she hunts Eddie again. Eddie has to look within and find the truth from his own harrowing past to understand his terrifying present. And if he does, he might survive.
Reviews
I read this entire series back to back. Excellent characterisation, exciting plots, great dialogue. More than happy to recommend to others.
This is a first rate collection from an author writing with real confidence and skill. Andrew Barrett’s Eddie Collins series is a firm personal favourite with me because the stories are always addictive reading and they each feature well rounded characters that feel very alive. Not least of these is Eddie himself who has a rather harsh wit and grumpy outlook on the world that he’s never afraid to air. For those new to Andrew Barrett's work this is an example of the high standard he sets. This set is a hugely satisfying read from start to finish, that I’m happy to recommend. There’s many good laugh out loud moments, many courtesy of Eddie’s one-liners, that are mixed in with other moments of violence, it is crime fiction after all. The author mixes it all together with such skill that it almost seems effortless for him. Crime writing is rarely this good and never better, highly recommended.
A brilliant series from a brilliant Author I never want any of these books to end !!
