Gruesome Murders
A Toby Dunbar Story

Everyone believes Rex the Wolf is dead.
Toby Dunbar believes it.
Detective Angela Danner believes it.
The police closed the case years ago.

They were all wrong.

When a young woman is found brutally murdered, detectives discover a heart drawn in blood beside her body with two chilling initials inside:

T.D.

Toby's initials.

As more victims appear, every murder seems designed to point directly at him.
Friends begin to question him.
Neighbors begin to fear him.

Even those who know Toby best begin wondering whether they ever truly knew him at all.

While Detective Mason struggles to keep the investigation focused on evidence instead of rumor, Detective Angela Danner begins questioning the one decision that has haunted her for years.

Somewhere in the darkness...
Someone is watching.
Someone is waiting.
Someone has spent years building the perfect lie.

And before it's over...

Chicago will discover that the dead sometimes leave the most dangerous footprints.

Gruesome Murders is a dark psychological crime thriller about obsession, fear, loyalty, and the devastating consequences of believing the wrong story.

5 out of 5 stars Spine-chillingly atmospheric and impossible to put down! Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2026 Format: Kindle Tyrone Wilson has delivered an absolute masterclass in suspense with The Gruesome Murders. From the very first chapter set in that rain-soaked, abandoned construction site, the tension grabs you by the throat and simply doesn't let go. What makes this thriller stand out so brilliantly is the terrifying psychological chess game between Toby Dunbar and a monster that refuses to stay buried. When bodies start showing up across the city marked with bloody hearts and Toby’s initials, the narrative ramps up into a pulse-pounding race against time. Watching the community, the media, and even Toby's closest allies begin to fracture under the weight of fear and paranoia is both heartbreaking and deeply engaging. The sheer dread of watching innocent people turn on someone they've known for years feels all too real. The pacing is relentless, the atmosphere is dripping with noir-esque grit, and the cat-and-mouse dynamic between Toby and Rex, who uses the city's worst fears as camouflage, is executed brilliantly. If you are a fan of gritty murder mysteries, deep character study, and relentless cat-and-mouse tension, do not pass this up. I cannot wait to see what happens next in the world of Toby Dunbar!

5 out of 5 stars this is a dark, suspenseful crime story with a strong mystery at its center Reviewed in the United States on August 29, 2026 Format: Kindle The Gruesome Murders pulled me in pretty quickly. I liked how the story doesn't simply give you a murder and an obvious suspect; it keeps making you question what is really happening. Toby Dunbar is placed in a difficult position when the evidence and rumors begin pointing toward him, even though things don't quite add up. The scenes involving the murders are definitely gruesome, but what I enjoyed most was the psychological side of the story. The blood-drawn hearts and “T.D.” initials add an unsettling signature, while Detective Mason's suspicion that someone could be setting Toby up made me want to keep reading. I also enjoyed the different personalities throughout the story, especially Mason, Danner, Pearl, and Toby. The book does a good job showing how quickly fear and rumors can change the way people see someone.
