The Monster They Saw
A Toby Dunbar Story

Toby Dunbar has been hunted by the police...

Feared by his neighbors...

And blamed for murders he didn't commit.

Now the truth is finally beginning to emerge.

Detective Angela Danner has reopened the case she thought she buried years ago, and every piece of forgotten evidence points toward one impossible conclusion:

The wrong man has been carrying the blame all along.

As Officer Pearl Price is found alive inside an abandoned warehouse, a final confrontation forces Danner, Mason, and Toby to face the man everyone believed was dead.

But some monsters don't disappear.

They simply wait.

In the final chapter of the Origin of the Wolf Trilogy, Toby must confront not only the man who destroyed his life, but the haunting question that remains after the truth is revealed:

What separates a monster from the man who refuses to become one?

The Monster They Saw is a gripping psychological thriller about redemption, justice, perception, and the quiet strength required to remain human when the world insists you are something else.

Reviews

5 out of 5 stars Thriller, suspenseful, enjoyable! Reviewed in the United States on September 17, 2026 Format: Kindle The Monster They Saw is a tense thriller that keeps readers engaged and wanting more; fear moves faster than truth, and every character—from detectives to victims- is trapped inside the consequences of what people think they saw. It's not violent; it’s observant, obsessive, and disturbingly calm, but it has emotional weight that elevates the story beyond a standard procedural. It creates a slow, suffocating tension that makes you question how easily a community can turn a man into a monster without evidence. This is clearly about perception, guilt, and a dangerous power that hardens too quickly. It is an enjoyable thriller that blends character depth with investigative suspense, and a great read!

5 out of 5 stars Amazing thriller!! Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2026 Format: Kindle This book was amazing! Detectives Danner and Mason are investigating a string of murders. All victims killed the same way following the same patterns. The towns people are already convinced that Toby Dunbar committed the murders even though he has professed his innocence. He decides that if noone believes him, he will solve the case himself to prove his innocence. He works to determine who would want to set him up and finally comes to the conclusion that the one thing all the victims have in common is him. He met then all briefly before they met their demise. Danner and Mason review the old case files and come to the same conclusion. Someone wants Toby to take the fall. But who would benefit from setting up Toby for the heinous acts? Such a great book! I would recommend.
