5 out of 5 stars When Tech Takes Control Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2026 Format: Kindle This story begins with a fascinating idea that is completely relevant in these times. The idea is a digital version of a person that can monitor the body and recognize medical problems before they become serious. The twist that pulled me in, however, was what happened when that idea was reversed. Instead of the "Twin" following the person, the person's body begins to respond to changes made to the "Twin." Elias is interesting because I could understand his initial anger. His resentment grows as he watches his company take control of his technology, giving others the recognition for its success. He reaches the point where he is willing to experiment with the technology and what it is actually able to do, which is where the story turns dark. There is a lot of repetition, especially regarding Elias' anger, and the story could have been tighter in places. Still, the main idea kept me reading. I was especially interested in the contrast between technology that could give someone back their lost abilities and that very same technology being able to take away abilities and cause harm. It really left me thinking about AI and the amazing medical breakthroughs that may be possible, as well as the terrifying thoughts of this technology in the wrong hands.

5 out of 5 stars A Thought-Provoking Tech Thriller That Gets Under Your Skin Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2026 Format: Paperback I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect going into The Digital Twins of Life, but this book pulled me in pretty quickly. The idea of a digital twin being created to mirror a person’s life, and then potentially gaining influence over that person, is both fascinating and unsettling. What I really enjoyed was how the story blends AI and healthcare technology with corporate greed, betrayal, and revenge. It doesn’t feel like technology is just being used as a gimmick; the author explores some genuinely disturbing questions about what could happen when we give technology more control than we realize. The premise kept me thinking about where the line is between predicting someone’s future and actually controlling it. There were moments where I found myself wondering who was really in control, the human or the digital twin. If you enjoy technology-driven thrillers with darker themes, ethical questions, and a premise that makes you think beyond the last page, The Digital Twins of Life is definitely worth checking out. I’m looking forward to seeing where the story goes in Book Two.
