AI-Enhanced External Footprinting
Discovering the Hidden AI Attack Surface

Artificial intelligence has quietly become part of the modern attack surface.
Organizations now rely on AI-powered websites, customer portals, cloud platforms, chatbots, recommendation engines, APIs, and third-party AI services. Yet most cybersecurity assessments still focus primarily on servers, domains, IP addresses, and traditional infrastructure.
What if the greatest cybersecurity exposure is no longer the infrastructure itself...
...but the intelligent systems operating behind it?

In AI-Enhanced External Footprinting, Dr. Tyrone Wilson introduces a practical methodology for identifying, documenting, and evaluating the AI-enabled capabilities that have become part of today's external digital ecosystem.
Inside you'll discover how to:
✔ Identify publicly observable AI capabilities
✔ Build AI capability inventories
✔ Evaluate AI trust relationships
✔ Map AI supply chains and third-party dependencies
✔ Assess AI-enabled operational exposure
✔ Prioritize AI observations using a structured risk framework
✔ Integrate AI assessment into existing External Attack Surface Management (EASM) programs

Built around the Wilson AI-Enhanced External Footprinting Model (WAEFM), this book provides cybersecurity professionals, CISOs, security architects, governance teams, healthcare leaders, consultants, and graduate students with a repeatable framework for understanding how artificial intelligence is reshaping the external attack surface.
As AI continues to transform business, the question is no longer:

"What systems are exposed?"
It is:
"What decisions are exposed?"
The next generation of external footprinting has already begun.

5 out of 5 stars Interesting topic Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2026 Format: Kindle I found this book to be an interesting and timely look at how AI is changing the cybersecurity landscape. It does a good job of explaining the hidden attack surfaces that can emerge from AI systems and why external footprinting matters. The subject is technical, but the practical focus makes it approachable for anyone interested in modern security and ethical hacking. I'm impressed with this work of art. I'll make sure to share it with my coworkers.

5 out of 5 stars AI Protection? Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2026 Format: Kindle This book is all about External Attack Surface Management programs. AI is awesome. But it can inadvertently leave you open to cyber security threats. Which is why these programs were built around the Wilson AI Enhanced External Footprinting model. We can use AI to keep our information stored securely and make sure hackers don't make it past the firewalls to the valuable information.
