Lou Money’s Money: A Toby Dunbar Novel

Everybody in the neighborhood has heard of Lou Money’s Money.
Hidden cash. Dead men. A rumor so old nobody remembers where the truth ended and greed took over.
Toby Dunbar knows what stories like that do on his side of Chicago: they put targets on living people. Once the legend ties him to the money, the wrong men decide he knows where it is, and they’re willing to squeeze anybody near him to find out.
What Toby fears even more than the hunters is what Ms. V might do if they corner her first.
As police start circling, old predators close in, and a basement trap turns a money hunt into a bloodbath over fake stacks wrapped in twenties, Toby learns the real danger is not the legend itself.
It’s what Mavis Monroe left behind.
And what her mother has been hiding in plain sight.
Lou Money’s Money is a gritty urban crime thriller about rumor, loyalty, blood, and the cost of being the man everybody expects to carry the impossible.

5 out of 5 stars Sharp, action-packed, and completely addictive Reviewed in the United States on July 26, 2026 Format: Kindle An absolute page-turner of a novel! Lou Money's Money cuts straight through the noise to deliver a clean, tense, and thrilling mystery. The character writing is top-notch, and the stakes feel intensely personal from start to finish. I loved how Wilson balances smart, tactical decision-making with fast-moving conflict. It's concise, heavily atmospheric, and sets up the rest of the Toby Dunbar Trilogy brilliantly. Highly recommended to anyone who loves crime and urban thrillers!

Ms. V was such a strong character in the story and complimented Toby well throughout the book. It was an interesting story with twists and turns but not complicated. I am curious about the next 2 books, you definitely want to know what happens next! This is a quick read and keeps your attention as needed for the details it tells! Good read!
