The Redemption - The Lancefield Murders 2
Formats: E-Book, Paperback
A wicked hate campaign. A deadly secret. A fortune worth killing for.
Six weeks on from the shocking murder that rocked the Cornish village of Penwithen, DCI Ennor Price finds himself knee-deep in a hate campaign against the victim’s grieving family. Dealing with vindictive threats is one thing, but when death unexpectedly rears its head four hundred miles away on Merseyside, Price can’t help feeling that someone just walked over his grave.
The fatal road traffic accident outside Liverpool’s Lime Street Station looks like just another routine investigation until inquisitive DS Kate Jenkins turns up. A search of the victim’s pockets reveals a connection to the Lancefield family of Salvation Hall, leading Kate to conclude that the death was something far more sinister than an accident.
When news of the incident reaches DCI Price, he is only too ready to agree with Kate. In fact, Price is convinced that the Liverpool accident was nothing short of cold-blooded murder.
But how can he prove his case from four hundred miles away in Penzance? And what can he do to stop the killer from striking at the Lancefields again?
Reviews
I thoroughly enjoyed the second instalment in this fascinating series and can't wait for the next. Sinister events unfold as detectives continue to investigate.
I have rarely read a book which has kept me so engrossed - impossible for me to sit long enough to read in one sitting - every opportunity I got, though, I sat and I read. Mariah Kingdom writes very well and the content of this book moves at pace which keeps one enthralled and guessing - not to mention shocked. I do hope that the author has number three in her sights.
