'It feels like there is a future'

Every cat has nine lives. This is the story of Penny's first life and the prequel to the CyberCat Series, and it begins somewhere most cats don't dare to go - inside Second Life, the online world where avatars build cliff-top homes, fall in love, and, in the case of the hopelessly devoted Storm and Dude, become utterly addicted to breeding adorable, interactive kittens.

What starts with a single cat soon becomes a whole menagerie. Then, after one disastrous click of the wrong button, a blue-eyed choc-point Siamese is born: clever, elegant and quite unlike anything bred before her. They named her Penny. Through a chaotic, funny, oddly moving adventure, she takes her first steps towards becoming the super-intelligent, Italian-speaking, time-travelling CyberCat.

Playful and affectionately strange, this is a glimpse into the early days of online worlds. A short read and the perfect companion for anyone who has encountered Penny in her later lives, or who simply wants to know where the legend of the CyberCat began.
