In the winter of 1595, Penny wakes up in the muddy gutter of a London street and is rescued from certain death by a kind but impoverished writer called William Baldwin. Before long, she is drawn into the glittering, treacherous world of Shakespeare's theatre, where Burbage and Armin are preparing a new comedy, 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', to be performed at a grand society wedding.

But Tudor London is a dangerous place, and when the writer is summoned by a ruthless intelligencer and falls under the shadow of the Queen's spymaster, a single whisper of treason could cost him his life. It will take a remarkably clever cat to save him.

Beware the Cat is the second book in the CyberCat Series, a warm-hearted, gently comic time-slip fantasy, richly researched and filled with literary mischief. Perfect for readers who enjoy clever historical fiction, Tudor intrigue and an unforgettable feline heroine.
