Reviews

This romantic, medical age-gap story grabbed me from the beginning. Meredith was the best neurosurgeon in the hospital with a perfect record. There was no question as to her surgical skills, but she struck out with her people skills. During a hospital audit to weed out the bad, no other staff member had anything kind to say about Meredith; only agreeing that she was a top-notch surgeon. Enter Emily, a member of the audit team who conducted psychological evaluations of the doctors. Her first impressions of Meredith echoed those of the hospital staff and led to her writing a negative review in her preliminary evaluation report.Emily was housed in a condo, coincidentally as a neighbor to Meredith. Their friendship began as fellow joggers and progressed to much more as Meredith eventually opened up as to the death of her wife and child back in England, and why she was such a cold and unfriendly person. Emily was able to open Meredith up and was beginning to see positive changes in her. Then something accidentally and unfortunately happened to break their close bond, driving Emily back to California. The story continues on, following their personal journeys, very skillfully following them until the HEA that Ruby Scott always promises. This was a wonderful, heart grabbing book that I truly loved.
