Speak This Not That: Positive Affirmations to Have a Better Day
Formats: E-Book, Audio, Paperback, Hardback
Ages: 18+
The most important conversation you will ever have is the one happening in your mind.
And right now, it might be working against you.
We all have thoughts like:
• I'm not good enough
• I'll probably fail
• I'm not ready
Over time, those thoughts shape your confidence, choices, and what you believe is possible. Research shows the brain can't fully distinguish between real and imagined thoughts, which means the stories you repeat to yourself don't just reflect your reality. They help create it.
But you can change that.
Speak This Not That gives you a simple, practical method: find the negative thought closest to what you're feeling, and choose from three empowering reframes, each paired with an uplifting quote from voices like Henry Ford ("Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right") and Maya Angelou ("I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better."), to shift your mindset in the moment.
Keep it on your nightstand, your desk, or in your bag. Whenever a negative thought creeps in, flip to the page that matches how you're feeling, and speak the reframe out loud.
Inside, you'll learn how to:
• Rewrite negative self-talk in real time
• Quiet your inner critic
• Shift from self-doubt to self-trust
• Turn a hard moment into a better one, one sentence at a time
• Build a more confident, resilient mindset

If you’re like me, it is so much easier to dwell on the negative, spirit-draining thoughts running through our heads than to find the energy to stay positive and focus on our good qualities. If you’re ready to get rid of those negative self-thoughts, this is the perfect book for you! “Speak This Not That” has helped me start living a happier life. When I notice I’m being hard on myself by saying things like “I’m not good enough,” I’ll pick up this book and find the negative thought closest to what I’m currently feeling/saying and then choose one of the 3 positive replacement thoughts. I’ll then say that positive thought out loud a few times and it does change my negative mindset to one that is more kind and encouraging. I also love all the inspirational quotes dispersed throughout the book. I can recommend this book and will be gifting it to a friend who struggles with focusing on all her positive qualities.
I love books with a strong call to action, a focused and simple practice to instill in your daily routine, and recognizable results. This is book certainly offers all that and is one of the most effective I have found. It’s so brilliantly organized and accessible. A gentle reminder of the power of suggestion and how starting the day with the right intention and mindset makes all the difference. I was having trouble quieting the voices in my head especially as we near the holidays, and my stress level at an all time high. This book helped me eliminate negative thinking and habits by starting each day by speaking a positive affirmation that I could carry with me throughout the day for support. If you or a friend need a kick in the pants to start 2023 off strong this is the best gift you can give yourself and others. 5 minutes a day can change your whole life.
I love this book! I find that the affirmations are a bit more unique and feel personalized. I look up the negative thought or topic I’m struggling with, and it gives me 3 positive affirmations to turn my mindset around. By giving 3 positive affirmations per negative thought, it not only directly addresses what I’m dealing with, but also helps me to step-by-step shift my perspective to something more productive and motivating. Using this book is helping me to practice more self-love and reframe my outlook for the better. I really can’t recommend it enough.
