For as long as there have been human settlements, a chosen few cats have worked behind the scenes, always in the shadows, protecting humans and enabling us to prosper.

A Protector looks like any other cat. They are neither expressive nor reticent, and many are considered beloved house pets. Except for a few special cases, most people are unaware of the cat's dual role, and Protectors work very hard to keep it that way.

Giblet & Belle are back, and this time the crime is personal. The family is taking a working vacation to the beautiful little mountain town of Busby, West Virginia. But this town holds dark secrets that some will kill to keep. Soon Belle, Giblet, and the rest of the animals are up to their whiskers in murder, moonshine, and a decade-old secret that involves one of their own.
