Mystery author Christopher Holmes has two problems.

First: his relationship with former homicide cop J.X. Moriarity is hanging by a thread.
Second: someone may be trying to murder his legendary mentor, bestselling crime queen Anna Hitchcock.

After surviving a suspicious “accident,” Anna begs Christopher to take her place at a writing retreat in her snowbound Berkshires mansion. Christopher obliges, but a second accident nearly ends him--bringing J.X. to the rescue.
