Formats: E-Book, Audio, Paperback
Oxford 1992: Stranded in the past, Josh Gardner has more to worry about than getting home when historical figures from the past begin to turn up. Cut off from the technology he took for granted in the future, Josh must adapt to life in 1992, where every encounter is a living history lesson. Navigating a world of phone boxes and VHS tapes, he is just beginning to enjoy life before the digital revolution, when a new time travel mystery unfolds. Missing people from the past are beginning to turn up, from a World War One soldier to a famous author who vanished in 1952 – and none of them have aged a day.
Reviews
I enjoy all of Jason Ayres time travel books but this is the best so far. The comparisons between a world before mobile phones and today are well sketched and the narrator’s dilemma over which world would be better to live in was very thought provoking. Very skilled and entertaining writing as ever.
Jason Ayres has, as usual, managed to make the unbelievable believable. His 5th book has continued seamlessly from the fourth and left me keen to read number 6. I'm loving every bit of this series!
Another great book in the Time Bubble series, a must read if you have enjoyed the others and a good standalone book too. Perfect for time travel fans and those who enjoy a bit of nostalgia. I love the fact they go back to the 90s, a time that doesn't seem so long ago but there have been so many changes since then that you would really notice the difference if you could travel back. I enjoyed the book so much I read it in one day!
