The Invisible Realm (A-maze-ing Mystery Adventures Book 1)
Formats: E-Book, Paperback, Hardback
Ages: 8-11
Eleven-year-old Hattie is on vacation. But rather than splashing in the water, she’s trapped inside the cottage as storm-tossed waves pummel the sand and wind bashes the shutters. As if that’s not enough, she’s also stuck babysitting for her new stepsister Dacey. Bored to the brink of tears, angry over an annoying kid and her oversized cat invading her life, Hattie prods Dacey into action, and the two girls embark on an indoor treasure hunt, hoping to find something – anything – to keep their minds off the miserable weather.
Little does either girl know what wonders lie ahead … a fabulous hidden world where fairy tales are real and statues come to life; an odd map that keeps changing; a maze of riddles and mystery and danger … how is it all possible? And how will Hattie resolve not only the mystery, but also her feelings about her stepsister Dacey, and find a way back to the cottage?
Reviews
Adventurous and Fantastic Story Hattie and Dacey are new stepsisters, and they are on vacation at the family's cottage. A storm does not allow them to play outside. Plus, they do not get along that well. So, they are super bored. After Hattie's insistence they search the cottage for treasure. To their surprise, they end up in another realm, where they meet fantastic friends and go on an adventure. This is a page-turner fantastical, magical, and adventurous chapter book for children between the ages of seven and eleven. Its plot and elements reminded me of stories like The Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland. Team work, conflict resolution, and friendship are among the main themes of the story. Kids will learn valuable life lessons while reading a whimsical book. Overall, I believe this book series will be a hit among kids and even some young adults and adults.
