Secrets, bravery and soaring adventure in the skies!
Launch yourself into this tale of a sabotaged sky palace, an intrepid crew framed for a crime they didn’t commit, and the boy who has to save them all.
Charlie and his father, the Captain of the airship Eager Kestrel, are flying high – respected traders, trusted with a top secret delivery to the Mayor of Great Dam City and invited to join an exclusive tour of the magnificent Grand Swan Imperial, the largest sky craft in the world.
The next day, their lives have been turned upside down.
Accused of bombing the air palace and stealing the priceless Crown Of Odessa, Charlie and the intrepid crew are forced to go on the run. They’ve been framed. But by who? And why? Somehow, they have to clear their name. And Charlie has to become the hero he didn’t expect to be in the process.
A romping tale of courage, intrigue, family, friends and airships in a future world where there is no oil. Fasten your seatbelts (or your gliding wings) – it’s going to be a wild ride!
Reviews
Great read for a lover of fantasy. The use of real references in a post apocalyptic world a great idea. Just waiting for the prequel or the sequel now.
As I read, I could see how easily this would translate into a TV series, or even a movie. It’s so well-written, you can visualise every scene in glorious detail. It may be written for 8-12 year-olds, but if you like a ripping yarn, you won’t be disappointed…no matter what your age!
The Sky Captain’s Son is super fast-paced and full of action—I couldn’t stop reading it! It starts with a top-secret delivery, and then suddenly turns into an awesome chase across the land in an airship. There’s so much going on, and you never know what’s going to happen next! It’s perfect for ages 7 to 12, especially if you love flying, airships, or exciting adventures. My favourite part was when they managed to lose the security ship that was chasing them. That scene was so cool!
