Making Waves - Lake House Love 1

Formats: E-Book, Audio, Paperback

She’s navigating the stormy waters of divorce. He’s a single dad unwilling to sail into the uncertain winds of love. Neither of them expects the currents of desire to run this deep…

Newly separated and seeking independence, Lilith Brooks retreats to her childhood lake house with her young daughter. The last thing she needs is the distraction of her handsome neighbor Asher Crowley - even if he does keep coming to her rescue.

Single dad Asher learned long ago that protecting those he loves means keeping his heart safely locked away. But something about the resilient yet vulnerable woman next door makes him want to risk it all.

As their connection deepens from friendship to passion, Lilith fears trading one cage for another. And Asher's protective instincts threaten the very independence she's fighting to claim.

With their hearts on the line and their pasts haunting them, can they find a way to build something real together? Or will the walls they've built to keep themselves safe end up keeping them apart?

MAKING WAVES is a steamy, emotional romance about learning to trust again - both in love and in yourself.

Reviews

I absolutely loved Making Waves by DK Marie! This story was so heart-warming and real and full of emotion that I couldn’t put the book down. I found myself on a rollercoaster of emotion from being enraged at Lilith’s husband to laughing myself sick at their first encounter at the lake house and finally to the slow-burning hope that the two would fall in love and find happiness. Books like this one are the reason I will always consider myself a hopeless romantic, no matter what, and DK Marie surely knows how to win the heart of a romance lover. The writing, the plot, and the characters were all amazing, down to the adorable friendship between Chloe and Raven. But the thing I loved the most was that this story was about such real-life issues that it made this already amazing book even better and more impactful. Making Waves is definitely worth the read!

Readers' Favorite

What a fun read! Making Waves is so delightful and engaging. Set in one of my favorite places… Michigan!! As for the characters my heart was wrapped up in the attraction between Lilith and Asher. Trying to start fresh and be independent yet recognizing she can’t ignore her heart was a turmoil most newly single mom‘s go through so it’s very relatable. I loved how headstrong and at times stubborn Lilith was towards Asher. The side characters are awesome you have the outspoken sister, the hot ex-girlfriend and the tormenting almost ex-husband. This also has some spice my scenes that will make your waves crash too! Ha ha! Making waves is perfect and exactly what every woman wants in her romance reads!! DK Marie is the goddess of Romance!!!!!

Goodreads- RM

It’s been awhile since a book captured me right from the first chapter and kept me hooked throughout the book. This is a genre that I don’t read a ton of books in, but once in awhile, I find a book that really grabs my interest. Both Lilith and Asher have past events that get in the way of their blooming relationship, and both will need to come to terms with it before they can both truly move on. Lilith was married to a jerk of a husband and Asher needed to come clean about his past. Both characters have young daughters, who fortunately for them, become best friends. The kids are likeable, and the secondary characters are fun and interesting. There were times I laughed out loud, especially with Hope and Tate. This is a good, steamy romance that goes at a good pace, and even though it’s a normal sized book, it felt like a quick read. Can’t beat that.
