Twelve-year-old Junie Benson is a slave with a mind too brilliant for the fields and ears too tuned for heaven. He hears the voice of God — clear as a bell. When that voice says run, the Benson family doesn’t hesitate.
But freedom is not the only thing chasing them.
2023
Lieutenant Colonel Zachary Trumble has built a life on discipline and duty. Yet his dreams are unraveling him — visions of a green-eyed girl he has never met, calling him across centuries. Leaving the military to salvage his marriage, Zachary accepts a high-security position at Burstein Labs.
What he discovers there will shatter everything he believes about science, time… and obedience.
A rogue genius. A captive family ripped from their century. A love written before history can record it.
Some miracles don’t arrive on time. They come Later.
Reviews
Shannan Harper 5.0 out of 5 stars Such a great read Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2022 Format: Kindle I normally don't like a lot of sci fi reads. When the author asked me if I would read and review it, I agreed, since I've read her work before. When I saw the cover, I wondered what I had gotten myself into. As I started reading, I was surprised that I was enjoying the story so much. The story kept me engaged right from the start, and I could not stop until I was finished with the story. And the switch between the two time periods was done so well. The author did such a great job with this story. Although I read it a bit ago, the characters have stayed with me even until today. I received a copy of the book via the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review of my own thoughts and opinions.
