FIGHTING FIRES TAKES GUTS. LEADING A TEAM INTO THE FLAMES TAKES SOMETHING FAR GREATER.

TONY MORETTI IS READY FOR NEW CHALLENGES. Smart, tough, and driven to make a difference, he leaves his post as an airport firefighter and embarks on a grueling three-month wildfire stint with the U.S. Forest Service. It’s only a prelude to his next stop: a position as a fire department lieutenant in Western Pennsylvania’s tough, steel-forged Monongahela Valley.

But the transition is far from smooth. Struggling to navigate the responsibilities of command, Tony’s new colleagues question his abilities, his past trauma haunts him, and his personal relationships are fraying at the seams. To make matters worse, an arsonist is on the loose, making his growth as an officer more critical than ever.

Determined to prove his abilities and conquer his personal demons, Tony throws himself into the fight, pushing harder with every challenge. But as the pressure mounts, one question lingers—will his best be enough?

Brace yourself for a pulse-pounding tale of courage, resilience, and the price of leadership.

Reviews

An example of masterful storytelling, The Fire Inside by Brian A. Colella is a well-crafted and riveting novel. The intricate plot centers on the internal and external struggles of a man who cannot overcome his demons alone while facing a villain who, while not truly evil, is still dangerous. Themes of sacrifice, honor, hope, and community enhance the narrative, giving it a human touch that makes it relatable. Character development is outstanding and features a fascinating cast that undergoes genuine and realistic growth. The pacing is brisk, steadily building tension throughout the narrative with a perfectly measured tone. The Fire Inside not only provides an immersive look behind the faceplate of a firefighter's mask, but it is also a great read and a powerful reminder that no person is an island. I wholeheartedly recommend it. Gaius Konstantine for Reader’s Favorite Book Reviews (May, 2025).

A thrill-a-page ‘firefighting’ drama with a strong, fun to root for protagonist. The pacing is excellent and there's never a dull moment. Colella is talented with dialogue, and he understands the most important rule in high-octane novel writing – lots of dilemmas all of the time. Fun stuff! Highly Recommended.
