This was an emotional journey that had you in a pull from the start. How the author decided to open, with this prologue, was a unique way to grab out attentions and lead into the background. The FMC is resilient, strong and pushes through the pain of her traumatic past that she is on the run from. This is going to lead her to a family with the connection of our Mafia MMC. At first he will be, as you expect; intense, possessive and powerful. However, what I loved most is how we watch it unravel to expose his true side. Full of heart and care in his heart, he will protect her in a way that truly has you swooning. Their connection and they way they develop, not only individually, but together was beautiful. It was a bit chaotic, emotional, and addicting to watch these two fight together. It was worth the late night reading when I couldn't put this down.
