Awaken reveals the struggles of parenthood as well as adolescence in a very real way while incorporating supernatural aspects that transport you into another world. Recreating the age old war between good and evil, Richard M. Lalchan writes Alice Harman into the middle of it all. Her father is fighting and struggling to keep her out of it. Thankfully along the way, Ben Harman meets a band of strangers turned friends. They help him save his daughter, and in the process, he becomes more firm in who he was always made to be. This story is one of resilience as each of the main characters undergo intentional character development from beginning to end. Though much of this book is detailed world-building, this one is a story the reader can lose themselves in, while picturing themselves as any one of the heroic characters. Each player has its purpose and each purpose is fulfilled, each prayer is powerful and finds its redemptive result! This faith-based book includes several bible verses that encourage the main characters as well as the reader throughout each perilous event and accompanies each act perfectly. Awaken is a delightful and impactful read that is entertaining and intriguing for any and all readers!

This beautifully produced book was a joy to read, with short chapters and clear type face. The story is full of mystery and intrigue, with a refreshingly clear Christian world view running throughout making a welcome change from many others in this genre. Looking forward to subsequent books.
