The die is cast, the course for Troy is set, a fresh wind fills the sails, and on the prow of the lead ship, a broken man has just sacrificed his own daughter to make it so. But the bloodshed is far from over. Now the battle for Troy begins.

This book takes us from the beach of Troy, through nine brutal years of savage warfare culminating in a catastrophic reversal of fortune that leaves the Greeks fighting for survival with their backs against the sea. Saved only by the setting of the sun, their last hope is an appeal to Achilles to rejoin the fight.
