Reviews
A brilliant read, From Sally in the U.K. “… I was totally engaged with both the story and characters from the very first page right through to the end and can’t wait for a sequel. A must for anyone who enjoys historical novels. Highly recommend this book. A gripping read… Amazon Kindle Customer The story is gripping from the beginning to the end, to the point that I read the book in an afternoon - I am now looking forward to reading the sequel. Unbelievable book… I love it! ….Evelyn B an Amazon Customer Amazing book!!! Heartwarming and heartbreaking all at the same time. Loved the characters, the history was spot on and it took over my life until I read the last page. Is there going to be a sequel?….I hope so! Better than Downton Abbey!… Angela from Canada From the moment I opened The Blue Pendent I knew I was in for a ride. The characters are so well developed, I could see the story unfolding like a movie in my head. What a brilliant story - not only of the lives of the people, but of history, society and the events of the day. I loved it from start to finish. What a journey! This story is right up there with some of the best historical novels - a wonderful glimpse of the courage and determination - and love - that carried these families through some of the greatest social transformations in modern history. I can only hope that Ms. Jennings is writing a sequel. It’s an absolute winner! …Audrey from Canada Susan Jennings debut novel, The Blue Pendant, is a book that will plant your feet firmly in the elegant English Bexhill-on-Sea Hotel, witnessing the lives of the staff hierarchy and some of the patrons. Anna, the protagonist, has a fascinating life—one that crosses the Atlantic and never missing an interesting, and sometimes unpredictable, beat. The prose is crisp, one becomes very familiar with the characters, and the clear, changing scenes waste no valuable time. I generally read either old or contemporary books, however, I’m so happy I didn’t miss the Blue Pendant.
