I am an author and poet working in Yorkshire, Englad and have been writing all my life. I have recently published an epic length poem, "Songs of Avalon," via Balboa Press and self published my first historical novel " The Habit and the Hood, " on KDP. I am currently writing my second historical novel "The King's Dancer" and I am illustrating a second epic poem: "Grendel's Bane," based on the Beowulf legend. I am interested in folklore and legend in storytelling and poetry and the idea of language as incantation. Apart from the work mentioned, I have a large backlog of poetry, two as themed collections, children's stories and poems and short stories. I tend to work from an inspired idea and keep a daily journal which helps with this. I enjoy the discipline of working collaboratively with other artists and have worked with an artist and sculptor and with musicians. Although I have worked and will work across genre, it is writing and the writing process which means most to me and I revere language and creativity.

A sweeping saga. The Habit and The Hood covers a period of history from the Crusades and through the reigns of Edward 2nd and Edward 3rd and into the Scottish Wars through the outlawing and eventual liberation of the common man. Using the traditions of English Folklore, the novel catalogues the journeys and hardships of ab and of English footballers in their journey as renegade against the crown to their final liberation as soldiers in the army of Edward 3rd in his Scottishcampaigns and finally to their demise at the influx of the Black Death. Covering a turbulent period of English history the novel shows what it is to take the journey of both political and personal advancement.

Epic poem. A take of magic, mystery, high emotion and human strength and frailty. It covers great period of history when the chivalrous code was at its height. A!though the work is one of fantasy it is set in a human reality with human emotions. No one since Tennyson has been brave enough to take on this legend and present it in the way it is best expressed. (From cover).
