Who knew there were this many things you could do while breastfeeding (besides logging onto Mumsnet, of course)? For many mothers, the time spent feeding their baby offers a rare oasis of calm and this book has a hugely imaginative range of things you can try out while feeding your baby.
Many mothers will find creative ideas here that could significantly enhance their breastfeeding experience. NCT practitioners will find some useful ideas in this book – and they might even want to recommend it to mothers as a relaxing read while breastfeeding. I found myself impressed with the range and variety of suggestions… it has a quiet profundity.
I just devoured this book. As a breastfeeding Mum, I often have feelings of futility as I sit down for the umpteenth hour to feed my ever growing baby boy. Reading this book made me feel like I could take on the world from my breastfeeding chair. It is inspiring and motivating. The author is candid and real - definitely doesn't come across as one of those super-mum types. She mentions that she wrote this book from jottings she made while breastfeeding herself. Everything from re-organising the bookshelves, to planning a holiday, to catching up on correspondence; all in bite size chunks. Permission to relax, put some music on, watch some comedy. The welcome permission that we seem to need and wait for before taking care of ourselves. None of the things involve great expense or fancy devices. Just real Mum stuff and I LOVED it. Really easy to read too - I was able to read through the book in one sitting and now looking forward to dipping in and out of it at my leisure - probably all the time that has just been freed up while I breastfeed. Thank you!
