My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday - The Time Bubble 9

Formats: E-Book, Audio, Paperback

Oxford, 2025: Meet Thomas Scott – a man about to embark on an incredible and unprecedented journey: an entire life lived in reverse. When Thomas wakes up in hospital, he has no memory of who he is or how he got there. All he knows is that he’s terminally ill, and this is the final day of his life. Or is it? The next time he wakes, it’s the previous day, and as more time passes, it becomes clear that the calendar is running in reverse. At first, he struggles to navigate this strange new reality. How can he form connections or make plans when his tomorrow is everybody else’s yesterday? Realising that he has already lived his life once, he sets out to investigate his past. Learning of his wife’s death and an attack on his daughter, he prepares to change events when those moments arrive, to alter the timeline and safeguard their future. From middle-aged father back to childhood, each passing year presents new challenges, as Thomas journeys backwards through the decades.

Reviews

Great book. The phrase "couldn't put it down" is thrown around a lot in book reviews but I've read this cover to cover this afternoon only briefly stopping to cook my family their tea! Story is original and unique in its delivery. I also found it quite uplifting and made me appreciate the life that we all have and to live it to its full potential. Definitely would recommend.

I enjoy reading books about time travel and this one did not disappoint. It is different to other time travel stories I have read as the main character goes backwards in time each day. Starting with his death the story takes you back through his life until eventually he is back inside his mother's womb. I won't say anymore, only that it's a great story and I was enthralled with it. Would love to see it on film.

I absolutely loved this book, it has all the best bits of The Butterfly Effect and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, with a lot of originality in it too, and the main character is immensely likeable. A heartwarming book, I read it in one fell swoop. I'll be looking out for more from Jason Ayres.
