I write Australian mystery suspense thrillers with a hint of political intrigue and 'not-so-young' women amateur sleuths. My short stories have been published in anthologies and magazines in Australia, the UK, the USA, and Canada. I live in a beachside suburb of Adelaide, Australia, although I grew up in country areas near Melbourne. Walking along the esplanade and marina sparks my best inventing. My stories are about ordinary people finding their voice. The plots are inspired by news headlines, social justice issues, political scandals, and corporate wrongdoing. It's a minefield for an overactive and inquisitive mind like mine. I began my creative writing adventure after taking early retirement from a public service career that spanned roles as diverse as Management Trainer, Team Facilitator, Statistician, and Laboratory Assistant. A Creative Writing course (Adelaide University), and numerous short courses at Writers SA and WEA, added to earlier studies - Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) & a Grad Dip in Education to give me insights for my plot ideas. My other passions include travelling and I love to draw on my experiences for the scenes in my novels. Even though my stories are mainly set in Australia, some of the action plays out in exotic locations further afield. My favourite writing space is local cafes. I am an avid theatre-goer, enjoy art exhibitions and galleries, and of course, I love to read.
