Reviews

The Roswell Quest by DJ Schneider is the prequel to the Melanie Simpson Mystery series. Everybody knows about Roswell. Everyone knows that an alien spacecraft crashed in 1947 and was covered up by the government. And no one can crack the secrecy surrounding it except maybe one person – Melanie Simpson. Her father was at the site of the crash and took some alien material. It’s hidden now, and Mel’s dad has died, but maybe she can work out where. Together with her new friends Frankie and Beanie, Mel sets off on the trail to find the hidden material, but they aren’t the only ones looking for it. Can Mel and her friends find the material first? Can they really beat a Russian agent and the Air Force? And what will they do once they find the alien material? The Roswell Quest by DJ Schneider is a fun story with tons of suspense and mystery. It has a unique plot packed with action and some pretty cool characters, all well-developed into real, relatable people. Although this is written for the YA market, older readers would also enjoy it, especially if they are looking for something that helps them escape the real world for a while. It’s also clear that DJ Schneider has thoroughly researched this story, weaving a believable tale that might just add more fuel to the Roswell fire – depending on your beliefs, of course. Overall, though, it is a well-written, fun story that won’t take you long to read. If you have read the Melanie Simpson mystery series, this adds nicely to Melanie's story.
