Reviews

This book is delightful! Theatre majors solving crimes, what more could anyone want? I'm encouraged that this appears to be the first book in a series because I'm missing some of these characters already. It's quirky, and funny, and incredibly well-paced and plotted. As a Fort Wayne native, I really enjoyed some of the local call outs (the Waiter on the Way one really made me laugh) and found myself wondering why no one has set a murder mystery in Fort Wayne before, cause it's a great location...

I begin reading this book at 4 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon and finished by 11 p.m. I was so engaged in the storyline that I couldn't put it down. The characters and storyline are well developed and intriguing. Just when I thought I knew where the plot was going, there was a twist that had me scratching my head and continuing to turn to the next page. I was not disappointed.

Immie had me from the first page. As an emerging detective, she is brilliantly flawed yet relatable, and the suspects were so well-drawn that I found myself suspicious of everyone through to the surprising conclusion. The author's writing is sharp and vivid, with a wit that kept any murderous tension light. If you're looking for an entertaining cleverly plotted whodunit that will keep you turning the pages, this book is the one to buy!
