Andrew Cheffings grew up in an isolated farming community on the Lincolnshire Marsh, but now lives in the city of Birmingham. He absorbed lots of local Marsh stories during his childhood and young adulthood, passed down aurally through the generations, from his grandparents, in their farmhouse front kitchen. His stories contrast city life with the lost world of his childhood, and include 'Green Twining', 'Muddy Lane', and 'The House With The Round Window'. He has an interest in story-telling and the arts in general, and has experimented through the years with visual art, music and music-theatre, and spoken word pieces. Alongside his writing life, he has done lots of art work in the community, and also has a professional interest in mind-body based therapy, which informs his writing.
