Amanda grew up in North Derbyshire but has lived in Oxfordshire for nearly 30 years. A magazine editor by profession, working on business-to-business titles in foodservice, catering, coffee and healthcare estates and facilities, she writes historical mysteries and has published three books: The Roots of the Tree (2014), The Woman in the Painting (2023) and Lady of the Quay (2025). A sequel to The Woman in the Painting is due in late 2026. Her books have won several awards: The Woman in the Painting won a silver medal in The Coffee Pot Book Club's 2023 Historical Fiction Book of the Year Awards in the Time Slip/Dual Timeline/Time Travel category and Lady of the Quay won a bronze medal in the 2025 Awards in The Tudors & The Stuarts category. Lady of the Quay was also a finalist in the Wishing Shelf Book Awards 2025. Whilst not writing, she likes nothing better than exploring crumbling ruins or losing herself in a good book.
