I have been working in software development for 40 years, but also writing in my spare time. I have published a few works, with a SFF gene, broadly. But also, humour. I like to have humour in my writings. I like to have humour in everything, to be honest. I have been in a writer group (until Covid), and done readings. I also write an occasional column for our local paper.

In a world where magic exists, but is not very useful, Joe, a junior accountant at Jarman Bricks but also a not-very-good wizard, reluctantly has to make a journey to save the world (and maybe find some meaning in his life). Despite both help and opposition, not to mention blinding incompetence, he achieves this to the benefit of those who helped and the ruin of those who opposed him. In this process, he does find some direction and purpose in his life.
