Hi, my name is Shannon L. Mokry. I always knew I wanted to be a mommy, this knowledge has given me a special heart for children and children’s needs. I’ve been a stay at home mom since my oldest child was born, and I started homeschooling shortly after my youngest was born. It hasn’t always been easy, but I am loving the adventures we have together. One of those adventures was publishing my own children’s books. Writing and publishing children’s book had the added benefit of using my education. I split my college education between Early Childhood Development and English Studies. As a young adult I never would have guessed that I’d write children’s books, but looking back at my passions and talents, it makes perfect sense.

After I got my service dog Theo, everyone kept asking me two questions: 'Will you write a book about him?' and 'What kind of dog is he?' This book is the answer to both. I wanted to make it a fun and humorous way to teach. People of all ages learn more when they are having fun, so a book about Poodles that will make you giggle seemed perfect. There is more to 'Yes, I'm a Poodle!' than silliness, it also explores the topic of not judging others. Theo is who he is-a Poodle, and a wonderful one at that.
