My most recent book is a collection of letters imagined for new coaches (book coaches, specifically) as they plunge into self-employment after years in another, employed, career. It's called 'Dear New Book Coach - A Quiet Companion' and has been included as a resource to support Author Accelerator's book coaching certification training programme. My first novel was 'Blind Chance - Oedipus Retold'. It's a contemporary thriller that imagines what the Oedipus legend would look like in the 21st century. It starts pacy, whizzes around Europe, gets caught up in jealousy, greed, and fatal misunderstandings, and after all that, ends on a reflective and hopeful note. As well as writing, I'm a book coach and editor for nonfiction authors writing for the US and the UK markets, and, as a lawyer for several decades, I offer legal contract reviews for authors. My editing approach is to thoroughly understand who is the intended reader and to keep the reader in mind at all times as I edit. My clients publish both traditionally and independently, and I offer strategic publishing advice, and guidance through the self-publishing process.
