Formats: E-Book, Paperback

Ages: 18+

In the heart of war, Lena will discover the rebel within.

Lena's unwavering loyalty makes her an exemplary soldier. But when she's chosen as a hostage to a treaty, her courage and resilience are truly tested.

Thrust from comfort to harsh captivity, Lena confronts not just the enemy, but the limitations placed upon her as a woman in cultures not her own. Fighting for her freedom, she forms an unlikely bond with a man with his own reasons to reject the expectations placed upon him.

As her understanding of her world is turned upside-down, Lena will risk all for her own future – and that of her land.

A story for those who dare to challenge the status quo and forge their own path.

Reviews

There is something so special about Lena's story. It's one that you can just simply get lost in. The pace isn't slow but it isn't heart racing either. It is a beautiful combination of calm and excitement that just keeps your attention until the story is done. If there is one thing Thorpe is able is do, it's grab you from chapter one and hold on tightly until she has finished telling the story.

. . . as keenly and intelligently researched and written as any good historical novel, and it reads like historical fiction, with the added bonus that this is a new world, one with which the reader becomes readily familiar because the author knows precisely what that world looks like, along with every intimate detail of her characters' lives.

. . . continues the series with solid consistency in the world building and with characters; and in book #2 she has added a good dose of extra political intrigue and elements which look and draw inspiration from our society and cultures. That said- as far as historical fantasy goes, Empire’s Legacy has this far felt entirely realistic. And that’s not a bad thing. At all.
