A Brother's Oath is the Sidewise 2024 Short Story Award Winner for alternative history.

This short story follows Vlad Dracula, Mehmed II, and Radu the Handsome who are at the center of two clashing cultures. After a bit of luck in a Tabula game, these three boys encounter a supernatural entity and all hell breaks loose.
