The Deadly Life of Diana Penn - The Cheviot Hills Time Travel Series 1

Formats: E-Book, Audio, Paperback

All Diana Penn wanted was a quiet retirement. What she got was a chance to rewrite history.

When a demolition crew uncovers unexploded WWII bombs in a quiet Northumberland park, retired MI6 agent Diana Penn instantly senses danger. But before she can act, the bombs detonate.

Instead of peace, Diana wakes up in December 1944, in the body of her younger self: a Land Army girl posted in a seemingly sleepy English town. Beneath the wartime camaraderie and village gossip, predators lurk and suspicious activities hint at dangers far greater than German spies.

Armed with knowledge of the future and the instincts of a seasoned operative, Diana must race to prevent catastrophe. Because this time, dying isn’t the end—it’s only the beginning.

A gripping wartime thriller with a time-bending twist, The Deadly Life of Diana Penn is a powerful new addition to the acclaimed Middle Falls universe.

Reviews

"Diana Penn is an easy character to like – mostly because she’s applying the thoughtfulness of age to the experiences of a young adult. I enjoyed the foreshadowing of major historical events and Diana’s constant care to not appear like someone with second sight. The book includes some well-drawn descriptions of London in the Blitz and country life in the 1940s."

Historical Novel Society

"I enjoyed the changing friendships, rivalries and hints of romance, against a backdrop of village life impacted by the war beyond. There is a very compelling, fast-paced plot, and the ‘race against time’ to change the outcomes of all these lives had me utterly hooked."
