Do you find the modern world passes you by? Times change. Things move on. Sadly, this can leave those of us who are a bit more advanced in years, a little confused. In April 2022 I decided to do something about it. As a writer, my weapon of choice was a weekly blog called ‘5 Minute Break.’ Each week I published a short article highlighting something that really pissed me off. Things like phone zombies. Too many ads. Vox-pop journalism. Toxic religion. In a rare spirit of generosity, I thought I would share some of my work with other old codgers who might have 5 minutes of ‘quiet time’ to be challenged or mildly pissed off, but hopefully, always amused.
