Helena Buckinx (1970) grew up in Brussels. She dreamed of a career as an air traffic controller but eventually studied history and has now been working as an event & communication manager in the private banking sector for over twenty years. At sixteen, she discovered her greatest passion, painting, and over the years, she has organised several exhibitions with her own work. At sixteen, she also had the ambition of writing a novel. Travellers in Transit is her debut novel and was awarded the 2021 ‘Indie Awards Public Prize’.
