I signed up for an MA in Creative Writing with the Open University at the age of 76 with no intentions of writing a novel. With encouragement from tutors and fellow students, plus the onset of Covid, I settled down to write and self-publish The Search in 2023. It is the story of an elderly widower you has a young woman he doesn't know standing on his doorstep. She has questions he can't answer. To follow that, I have self-published Life With St. Michael, a memoir of my time working for Marks and Spencer at their Head Office in the1970s. Now I am working on a historical novel based on a letter I have which was sent from New Zealand in 1867. In it my great-grandfather's brother tells his family that he has no intention of returning to Finchley
