How hard can it be to solve a mystery, release a princess, and restore peaceful relations between warring countries?
Spymaster, Etienne Martan, is on a mission to safeguard Carentan’s political stability when he becomes entangled in a local mystery during a masked ball. The plot thickens when Jessamine Darron, heiress to Tennengaul’s throne, faces accusations of a high-profile theft. Imprisoned and awaiting interrogation by notorious inquisitors, the princess’ fate hangs in the balance.
Etienne and Jessamine embark on a dangerous journey to uncover the whereabouts of an ancient family heirloom that holds the key to the fate of the realm. Theft, ambition, love, loss and adventure fuel the unseemly shenanigans going on in the Kingdom of Malvas.
Pitched against an adversary, who would kill for the power of the lost jewel, Etienne must solve the mystery, free the princess, and restore peace between warring nations. Walking in the shadows of his father’s notoriety, Etienne must find his own place in the world before he loses his heart’s desire, and the Western Isles descend into fractured chaos.
