Donn King is an author, speaker, professor emeritus of communication studies, and a pastor in the United Methodist Church. As a writer and communication coach, he has dedicated over four decades to helping people communicate effectively in personal and professional settings. Donn is the author of "The Sparklight Chronicles," a series of business parables designed to help readers align their lives with their values, as well as several other books. Donn is a Distinguished Toastmaster and a proud member of The Go-Giver Success Alliance. He has spoken to diverse audiences across the United States, from churches to business conferences, and is recognized for his engaging presentations and innovative use of Zoom for professional communication. His contributions to education and communication earned him the Excellence Award and Innovation Award from the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development. He holds a B.A. in Communications from Freed-Hardeman University and an M.S. in Communications from the University of Tennessee. Donn and his wife Janet reside on the quiet side of the Great Smoky Mountains, where he writes and teaches, while Janet creates beautiful works from yarn. Together, they enjoy the best coffee in Tennessee and cherish life with their family, including five children, three grown and independent, one who is complicated, and one who lives on in their hearts.
