Alicia Carbo-Guha is a children’s author and illustrator of picture books and the creator of the Adventures with Buku series. Her stories invite children to explore important real-world topics through fun, engaging adventures that spark curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and inspire meaningful conversations at home and in classrooms. Originally from Barcelona, Spain, Alicia now calls Toronto home. She is also a proud iaia (grandmother) to three grandchildren, who continue to inspire her storytelling. In the 1990s, writing under a pen name, she published the BUKU and Abracadabra series in Catalan. Buku i la Natura (Buku and Nature) was endorsed on Barcelona’s TV3 as one of the year’s five best children’s books, and English and Spanish editions followed shortly after. Beyond writing, Alicia enjoys hiking, traveling, art, and technology.
